Scheduled Roster: Tues – Fri 8am to 4pm and Sat 7am – 3pm

Must have Forklift License | Retail Experience preferred

Our organisation provides many services and programs, including soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria (VCV), which assist some of Victoria’s most vulnerable communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, the housing crisis and family violence, and the elderly.

 

A little bit about the role

Are you ready to get moving and be part of a dynamic team? We’re looking for a Warehouse Assistant Team Leader to receive goods and pick and pack shop orders.

In addition, you will prepare and provide administration documents that supports the smooth operations of the Warehouse. This includes but is not limited to shop stock intake and output, ensures that forklift safety documents are reported on a daily basis and ensures pallet racking is compliant with the required safety standard.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Support warehouse operations by ensuring efficient, safe processing, sorting and storage of donated products.
  • Monitor and report on team performance, maintaining safety standards, quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Administer systems for product traceability, compliance and staff training, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Support efficient stock processing and ensure objectives are met on time and to a high standard.
  • Lead and motivate the team while fostering a positive, mission-driven work culture.
  • Manage staff welfare and report on productivity, ensuring policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
  • Supply recommendations for improvements encouraging innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, actively preventing injury and illness in the workplace.
  • Identify, report and manage hazards or incidents promptly to maintain a safe environment.
  • Support the Society’s commitment to the wellbeing of all personnel, ensuring compliance with legal and safety requirements.

 

About you

You are a team-oriented and proactive individual with experience working in a large warehouse environment. You provide excellent customer service, resolving issues effectively and fostering positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers and stakeholders. You thrive in dynamic environments, manage time efficiently and are committed to safety and compliance. With strong communication and problem-solving skills, you bring practical knowledge and enthusiasm to support the mission of the Society.

 

More specifically you will have:

  • An understanding of distribution and logistics processes, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, e.g. Excel, Word and accurate management
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety (OH&S) practices.
  • The ability to operate a forklift (licensing required).
  • Physical fitness to handle lifting, carrying, and standing – this is an active job!
  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement, always looking for ways to make things run smoother.
