About St Vincent de Paul Society
For more than 170 years we have been providing practical and compassionate support to people across Victoria whose daily struggles can include putting food on the table, paying essential utilities and ensuring their children remain at school to obtain an education.
Our organisation provides many services and programs, including soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria (VCV), which assist some of Victoria’s most vulnerable communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, the housing crisis and family violence, and the elderly.
Little bit about the role
In this role you will be a key player in the operations of our beloved Vinnies Shops in the Eastern Suburbs. You will be a first point-of-contact for Retail Management support as you provide advice and expertise to your local shop management teams on a wide variety of matters. This is a key role in the organisation as you will be accountable for the continued success of Vinnies Retail across the Eastern region. With your exceptional leadership and knowledge in all things retail, you will help build passionate and dedicated teams of retail superstars and further grow the potential of our Shops.
Your responsibilities
- Working with Shop Managers to foster a strong customer service culture in Shops
- Managing functional responsibility in areas such as merchandising, financial reporting, OH&S management, sales marketing and advertising
- Identifying areas for improvement and refinement in Shop operation procedures
- Developing work plans to manage all material and financial resources
- Taking a leadership role in projects and events that contribute to the Retail division and influences organisational culture
About you
With your excellent leadership skills and experience of managing teams in the Retail sector, you are passionate about coaching and developing individuals. Known for your fantastic communication style, you will quickly build meaningful relationships across the retail teams and the wider organisation. In addition, you have:
- Accreditation in Retail Operations/ Management (preferable)
- Extensive knowledge of retail management, sales and merchandising
- Demonstrated experience in managing a workforce across multiple work sites
- Experience leading and engaging people to achieve objectives
- Strong time management skills, including ability to meet deadlines
- Exceptional skills in forging internal and external relationships
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective judgement & decision making
- A current Victorian motor vehicle license and willingness to travel throughout Victoria as required
