About St Vincent de Paul Society
For more than 170 years we have been providing practical and compassionate support to people across Victoria whose daily struggles can include putting food on the table, paying essential utilities and ensuring their children remain at school to obtain an education.
Our organisation provides many services and programs, including soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria (VCV), which assist some of Victoria’s most vulnerable communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, the housing crisis and family violence, and the elderly.
Little bit about the role
As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving data-led donor acquisition, retention, and engagement within the Fundraising department. You will develop and implement strategies to grow our database and increase revenue from individual and community donors. This includes multi-channel appeals, donor retention initiatives, regular giving programs and community fundraising efforts. You will lead a team dedicated to maximising donor engagement and lifetime value, ensuring a sustainable and scalable approach to fundraising.
Your responsibilities
Lead the growth of regular giving by driving acquisition, retention, and upgrades. Develop and implement retention programs in collaboration with internal teams and external partners to optimize donor acquisition. Utilize data analysis to create effective communication plans that enhance donor engagement. Build a supporter engagement framework to foster donor loyalty and develop personalized care initiatives using data-driven, segmented journeys. Lead multi-channel giving appeals (including mail, digital, telemarketing, and SMS) to boost donor retention and engagement while refining messaging and improving campaign outcomes. Create and execute a community fundraising strategy, overseeing peer-to-peer and supporter-led events, and identifying new growth opportunities. Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and optimize campaign performance. Lead and mentor the fundraising team, fostering collaboration and maintaining strong relationships with external agencies and stakeholders.
About you
- A degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Fundraising, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, individual giving, donor acquisition, retention and donor cultivation in the nonprofit sector.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Advanced knowledge of donor development strategies, giving trends and donor engagement tactics.
- Experience working with external agencies (e.g., direct mail, telemarketing, digital marketing).
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of overseeing teams in fundraising contexts.
Why work for us? We offer

- We make an incredible difference in the lives of over 300,000 people every year.
- We believe in families, so we like to provide a family-friendly environment in which to work.
- We offer a place where you know you are contributing to a firm committed to helping others. We are passionate about #SocialJustice.
- Hybrid working model.
