Overall, St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria has many arms and services. These include soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria, which provides a range of services and programs for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage. This includes crisis accommodation, drug and alcohol dependency programs, and housing.

It’s an exciting time to join the organisation as we have recently launched a new strategic plan that is future oriented and full of exciting initiatives. The IT Transformation team will play a pivotal role in delivering on strategic projects and helping the organisation to achieve operational excellence.

 

About the Role

As the Functional Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Dayforce implementation is successfully executed across multiple functional areas, aligning system design decisions and ensuring compliance with business needs. You will collaborate with HR, payroll, finance, IT, and external vendors to deliver a cohesive system that meets operational and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing cross-module design, ensuring alignment across Core HR, WFM, Payroll, Integrations, and Talent.
  • Providing expert advice on HR and payroll best practices, ensuring compliance and optimal functionality.
  • Facilitating solution-focused decision-making in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Leading testing, data validation, and cutover planning to ensure system integrity.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, vendors, and system integrators.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and compliance, ensuring long-term success.

About you

We are looking for an experienced HCMS and payroll system implementation expert who can provide strong functional leadership. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of influencing stakeholders and driving consensus in a complex decision-making environment.

 

More specifically you will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in HCMS, payroll, or workforce management system implementations.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise HR platforms (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, or similar).
  • Deep functional knowledge across Core HR, Payroll, WFM, Talent, and Integrations.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional design governance and avoid unintended system impacts.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in leading large-scale digital transformation projects within HR & payroll.
