About St Vincent de Paul Society

For over 170  years we have been in Victoria assisting people through the challenges of poverty and exclusion address suffering, advocating against inequality and promoting human dignity and self-determination.

Overall, St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria has many arms and services. These include soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria, which provides a range of services and programs for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage. This includes crisis accommodation, drug and alcohol dependency programs, and housing.

 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager HR Partnering & Workplace Relations, you will advice and support on a range of HR matters, including performance management, grievances and you will play a key role in contributing to organisational development projects and initiatives including wellbeing, recognition and workforce satisfaction and feedback.

We are looking for someone who is organised and is excellent at forging strong relationships. Being responsive, approachable and service oriented will help you succeed in this role. What does success look like?

For our “people” team, success is all about enabling the SVDPV to establish and maintain a great culture with highly engaged people.

To do this you will need:

  • Experience in a HR environment with some exposure to Employee Relations
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret the industrial relations system, including National Employment Standards and Modern Awards Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to develop relationships, trust and rapport with range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in managing employee relations processes to resolution
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
