About us:

The St Vincent de Paul Society aspires to be recognised as a caring lay-catholic charity offering ‘a hand up’ to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope and encouraging them to take control of their destiny by providing practical support, advocacy and friendship.

The Society is one of the most recognised and highly regarded charitable organisations that has been providing support to Victorians for 160 years. We operate over 100 retail shops throughout Victoria, commonly called “Vinnies” that raise much needed funds to support those who are vulnerable in the community.

The Role:

This is an amazing opportunity to join the team at our Altona Distribution Centre. With over 100 Retail Shops across Victoria, our dedicated Warehouse team sorts and processes the incredible amount of donated goods we receive from the public and ensures they are ready for dispatch to our Vinnies stores.

We are looking for a hard-working, reliable and hands-on operator who is ready to engage in a dynamic team environment. With Vinnies, no two days will be the same and your adaptability and experience contribute to providing a hand up to those in need.

More specifically you will have:

  • A current and valid Forklift license;
  • Demonstrated experience in a warehouse environment;
  • An understanding of safe work practice within a warehouse environment;
  • A “Can do” proactive attitude and positive team spirit;
  • Capability to physically fit and able to undertake safe manual handling practices.

 In return we offer:

  • Salary packaging, sometimes called salary sacrificing is a huge attraction here! It is a popular way of providing employees in the community sector with tax benefits over and above their salary. It means the real value of a salary package can be significantly higher than the nominal value.
  • We are committed to professional development to make sure that your career keeps growing while you’re working with us.
  • We make an incredible difference in the lives of over 300,000 people every year.
  • We offer a place where you know you are contributing to an organisation committed to helping others. We are passionate about #Social Justice.
  • We have some great talent who are happy to share their experience and skills to help you on your way.
